The Company was listed as the 22nd largest developer in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties by a North Bay Business Journal Survey completed in 2001.
William A. Saks & Company received the National Home Builder Association's "Best in American Living Award" naming the Company's Vintage Landing III project in Benicia one of the best, small, detached home developments (under 1,500 square feet) in the United States. This same project also received the nomination for a "Gold Nugget Award" presented by the Pacific Coast Builders Conference.
The namesake and driving force behind the Company is William A. Saks. Mr. Saks has enjoyed more than 30 years of development and sales experience. While serving with the Southampton Company of Benicia and as President of Kinney and Saks Company, he successfully completed numerous residential, industrial and commercial projects throughout Northern California. The projects ranged from 1/2 acre to more than 600 acres and vary in scope from single structure construction to master-planned communities containing hundreds of homes, parks, schools, apartments and neighborhood shopping center sites.
Mr. Saks is a past officer and director of the Solano Economic Development Corporation (SEDCORP) and a past member of the Board of Governors of Rancho Solano Country Club. He is also a founder and past President of Arts Benicia, a local arts agency. Mr. Saks has chaired numerous philanthropic and community committees.
